Other floorboarding options
Other options for loft floorboarding include running timber bearers above or counter ways over your exsting ceiling joist. These bearers can be specified in varying depths depending on the level of insulation and also air gap required. Good quality flooring grade particle board with tounge and groove jointng is then screw fixed over the new timber bearers. Additional insulation can be added before the new boarding is fitted.

Our cheapest option is to lay the floor boarding directly over the existing ceiling joists, however this can compromise the insulation value and also any plumbing or electrical cabling run on top of the existing ceiling joist.

We supply and install aluminium and wooden and steel loft ladders. All our ladders are manufactured by a market leading access equipment company so you can be sure of the quality. Ladder options may be made to fit by altering the loft hatch size as necessary to accommodate the new ladder.

FAKRO LWK loft ladders.
As well as offering quick installation, the ladder is equipped with an aesthetically pleasing smooth white finish to the hatch and a handrail as standard. As the hatch is opened the hinge moves it away from the ladder thus increasing space for added convenience. The ladder comes complete with stile ends (only 3 section). Permissible load of 160kg.

FAKRO LMK metal loft ladders come with a white hatch and a red handrail. To secure the handrail, it is fixed to the ladder brackets to ensure ease of operation. The ladder comes complete with stile ends, a white hatch, peripheral seal, a red handrail and non-slip treads. Permissible load of 200kg.

The FAKRO LST scissors loft ladder is equipped with a 3.6cm thick, white insulated hatch as standard. The box is made of wood and has quick-fit brackets while the hatch opening mechanism guarantees safe folding and unfolding. In addition, its construction has eliminated the need for a lock.
